Fava Beans are bright green beans that come in large, inedible pods that are thick and spongy. Though you shell the pod, the bean’s skin is thick and often needs to be removed by shelling the bean as well. Underneath, the beans are tender, with a sweet, mild flavor and are similar in shape to a lima bean.
